Special Educational Needs & Disability (SEND)
MEET THE TEAM
Head of Learning Support and SENCO
Mrs Higham
I am the Head of Learning Support and SENCO. My role is to support students to have the best learning experience during their time at 91Ï㽶app. I work with the pupils, parents, teachers and the whole pastoral team to help with strategies to achieve their potential. I meet with students to discuss what support they need in their learning journey and disseminate this to the teaching and support staff. This also includes students with medical needs who require a care plan or other adjustments to support them in school. I am responsible for the Exam Access Arrangements at the end of KS4 GCSEs to enable those students who may require additional help to gain the support they need. In addition, I am the Designated Teacher for Looked After Children liaising with all agencies to champion our most vulnerable students.
I can be contacted via email: j.higham@tarletonacademy.org

My strengths lie in supporting the SENCO, Mrs Higham, in school with the processes and the associated paperwork required to get as much support in place as possible to empower the students to achieve their potential.

Special Educational Needs & Disability
SEND Partnership
The Lancashire SEND Partnership was formed following the 91Ï㽶app and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) joint inspection of special educational needs and disability (SEND) services in our local area.
The partnership brings together all the agencies in Lancashire which provide the SEND services for children, young people, their parents and carers. It ensures everybody can work together to provide the best outcomes for children, young people and their families, with representatives who use the service.
